Newsletter – March 2020

A message from the President

It is with great sadness that my first major announcement as president is that our 2020 season is now “coming soon” rather than entertaining you as expected.

These are challenging times for all of us, both personally & professionally, but you can be assured that we will be back just as soon as it’s safe & practical to do so – and we’ll kick off with the hilarious “Inspector Drake & the Black Widow” as our first show.

Given the continuing government advice we have decided to suspend our drama classes; the committee will meet on April 18 to reassess the continuation of drama classes for Term 2 and communication will be provided in due course.

Our monthly Karaoke evenings have been deferred and other events, such as the concert for Gunilla Myren School of Singing, will be reviewed and reassessed at regular intervals during these rapidly changing times. We will make decisions with the best interests of all our community at heart and hope to have these events back up and running again soon.

For those who’ve already booked tickets to our shows, our fabulous team with be in touch in the coming days to discuss changing your ticket to a future date. To thank our loyal supporters, particularly during this difficult time, we would like to offer you a gift of a Z-PAC voucher to the value of 50% of your original ticket price. This voucher will be valid until 31st December 2021 and is subject to our terms and conditions which will be provided when we contact you.

I’d like to thank our previous committee for putting us in the position we’re in to weather the storm – it won’t be easy but we’re strong enough to survive and bounce back even stronger. Please support our sponsors, local businesses and each other as we deal with COVID-19 over the coming months.

We encourage you to stay tuned to our Facebook page where we will use this opportunity to share some treasured memories and have some laughs. Reach out to us if you have a favourite show or memory you would like us to revisit, or if you have stories you would like us to feature or share. You can comment or message on the Facebook page or send an email to

Finally, thank you for supporting Z-PAC both in good and tough times; we hope you stay safe and healthy and we can’t wait until we have our theatre full again to entertain you all.

Kind regards

Z-PAC President

2020 AGM

Our 2020 AGM was well attended and we saw off well loved members of the previous committee. In particular, we have farewelled Liane Mills who has worked tirelessly on the committee for a number of years. In her service to Z-PAC Theatre she has led her committee to achieve great things for Z-PAC, including, but not limited to, Air-conditioning for patrons and actors, improved grounds and gardens, and improved finances which are now allowing us to weather the challenging current times. Thanks to all of the 2019 committee for their service and support of Z-PAC Theatre.

We now welcome the 2020 committee, who have bravely stepped into big shoes to fill:

PresidentDavid Coleman
Vice-PresidentJonathan Dunn
SecretaryDavid Coleman
TreasurerDeb Hunter
Artistic DirectorTheresa Saunders
PromotionsKatie O’Neill
Technical DirectorJeff Sweeney

Nominations for Secretary

David Coleman ran unopposed as Secretary in the latest AGM, and also was elected to the position of President. Consequently, we are now looking for nominations to take over the position of Secretary. This is a rewarding role in a dynamic management committee and an exciting way to support the Z-PAC Theatre community. The role involves the taking and keeping of minutes for committee meetings, and some involvement in correspondence and other official paperwork. Expressions of interest in this position are to be forwarded to David Coleman at or on 0408 074 768 by April 4th.

Z-PAC Mailing List

With the changeover of our management committee, we have reviewed our mailing list protocols. Everybody who was previously receiving the newsletters should still be, as will anyone who has nominated to receive messages from us when you were purchasing tickets over the past couple of years. If you no longer wish to receive this newsletter, or if you may be receiving multiple copies to different email addresses, please use the link at the bottom of this message to unsubscribe yourself from this list.
