Z-PAC On The Move “Snapshots From Home” Auditions
May 9 @ 4:00 pm – 7:00 pm
There are many people in our community with mobility challenges who would love to see live theatre but can’t come to the theatre. To reach these people, Z-PAC is putting together a show specifically designed to take to Community Groups such as retirement villages, Aged Care Facilities and the like.
If you think you might like to be involved, and would be available for rehearsals and performances during regular business hours, please come along to Auditions Thursday, May 9th from 4pm.
The show is called Snapshots from Home and will be directed by Jonathan Dunn.
“We just carried on… even with our loved ones away for so long. Everyone shared things… food, knitting and dressmaking patterns. There was this great feeling of pulling together… of making do.”
Based on the wartime memories of twenty-four men and women from Brisbane and the Sunshine Coast, Snapshots from Home shares the stories of ordinary people living through extraordinary times. An honest, heartbreaking, and hilariously funny glimpse at the realities of life on the home front during World War Two.
Commissioned to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the end of WWII in the Pacific, the play combines a series of ‘snapshots’, linked together by visual images, radio broadcasts, dance, music and song.
There are 4 people required:
- 2 males 20-50 yrs
- 2 females 20-50 yrs
This is a wonderful opportunity to be engaged in a very special type of community theatre. Hope to see you at the auditions.
The show will run over a 12 month period with performance dates/times yet to be confirmed but will be during working hours. We anticipate at least 8 performances.
